@Christian. You shouldn't see the files from within OSX. Apparently it's "tar"'s fault. Apple modified this utility to export the info with the "._" filenames. Deleting them should be of little use as they will be recreated.

BTW, seemingly COPYFILE_DISABLE was introduced in Lepoard. The other variable was the one used before Leopard.

Interesting.., i run with the same problem, and the meta information files could not be removed with the "rm" command. I guess that the creation of those files depends on the editor right?

I noticed those files when submitting some zip files for a class I took recently. Never noticed them before because they're obviously hidden, but they did show up in term when i did ls -la, if you want to completely remove them rm will do the trick from term.
